Visit, Study, & Live at the Ashram

Experience the simple, carefree life of a Sat Yogi

Renounce the Stress of Worldly Life

Let the Ego Drop Away and Abide in the Realm of the Miraculous

Our Ashram now offers month-long immersion programs and even longer-term stays for serious seekers, in some cases leading to permanent resident membership in our community. Learn more about our Shakti Saturation Month or our six-month Sevadhari Program.

Our vibrant lifestyle is filled with meditation sittings, wisdom classes, cultural events, outings to the holy river, birdwatching, stargazing, and special seminars and retreats all year round.

But we are also early-rising, hard-working servers—of God, humanity, and our fellow yogis. Some work in the fields and gardens, some in the greenhouses, some in the kitchen, some in administration and online services. Some are being trained to serve as teachers and guides. Everyone is studying and practicing to attain the highest aim of Self-realization and blissful Liberation in life!

Sat Yoga offers meditation retreats along with other advanced programs of immersion for serious spiritual seekers as part of our online wisdom school offerings and as part of our onsite Ashram Residency Path program.

Our courses and retreats focus on the attainment of Self-realization. Led by Shunyamurti and supported by the ashram community, these powerful and transformational seminars are designed to help people understand and cope with the extraordinary events that are occurring in this historical moment in time by offering Truth–both absolute Truth and the relative truth about what is happening in the world.

Although the ashram is closed to short-term retreats for now, we continue to broadcast our full calendar of Shunyamurti Retreats and Seminars for all who wish to join our global sangha and receive the latest empowering transmissions from Shunyamurti.

Onsite at the ashram, we have created a new month-long program especially for our online members, Shakti Saturation Month. We are also open to receiving applications from those who wish to join us for our long-term residential immersion, the Sevadhari program, or as a candidate for permanent residential membership. These programs are for serious seekers ready to dive into our ashram energy field.

Our Sacred Forest Sanctuary

A Monastery in the Mist

Our remote mountain refuge in a rainy cloud forest in southern Costa Rica is perhaps an unlikely place to find this paradoxical community of spiritual anarchists who have made their exodus from the chaotic and collapsing world to live in truth and harmony with Nature and each other.

You are invited to join us in our tranquil ambience and learn to live in the solitude of inner silence. Once the ego and its mental chatter have dissipated, you will enter the endless ecstasy of boundless openness—from which no one ever chooses to return!

Shakti Saturation Month

The Shakti Saturation Month is a 4-Week transformational intensive specially designed to serve our growing global community. This onsite program is open to all who feel in alignment with the Sat Yoga teachings, and who wish to immerse themselves in the ashram energy field and go deeper into the silence of the Self. Please visit the Shakti Saturation Month page to learn more and begin the application process.

Become a Sevadhari

The Sevadhari program is for serious seekers of Self-realization willing to commit to an intensive immersion in spiritual inner work as well as physical service to the community for a period of at least 6 months. You would attend the wisdom school classes, engage in individual sessions of Self-enquiry, and participate in beautiful community projects. Those who wish to be considered for permanent membership in the Ashram also start out as Sevadharis. Please visit the Sevadhari program page to learn more and begin the application process.

We are receiving applications from those who wish to join us for an extended period as part of our Sevadhari program. This program is a residential curriculum in which serious seekers of Self-realization are invited to dive fully into our ashram energy field, classes, and community work projects for a period of six months or longer.

Retreats Designed and Taught By Shunyamurti

Mind-Boggling Truths Combined with Soul-Reviving Energy and Meditative Practices that Bring Peace to the Heart

A Sat Yoga Retreat led by Shunyamurti will transform your understanding of reality and open your mind to a more fulfilling life. Whether you join us online or at the Ashram, you will feel the Shakti pouring into your heart, strengthening your life energy, and opening your imagination to create a more joyous and fulfilling existence!

The self-evident truths you will internalize while participating in the transformative processes that occur in these retreats will bring an end to self-doubt and fear.

Since we are always already free, the illusion of bondage can drop away at any moment. These retreats are designed to maximize the chances that such a moment will arise for you—and that you will have the wisdom to surrender to the Real and gain eternal Liberation!

Make this time YOUR time. Your time to look at yourself with no defenses, no judgements, instead go deep within you and allow. Allow your heart to open . You are in a contained , safe environment. In my case, I had built so many walls around my heart that it actually felt heavy , but when I made the time to allow , to allow forgiveness, to allow the light in, those walls crumbled and I was able to feel the lightness in my heart. This is the reason why I recommend that optional outdoor seva Sat Yoga offers. Removing the tree moss, felt like removing the ego stains/thoughts from my heart, which can be very suffocating and by helping the trees, I was helping myself. Taking care of the trees , feeling part of them , was my offering to God. It helped me in cultivating my devotion to God and the Sangha and not my ego.

Brahmachari:

One whose consciousness has merged with Brahman, the Absolute, and thus has been liberated from all desire, fear, attachment, and material frames of reference. Thus, a Brahmachari naturally lives a life of celibacy, simplicity, and inner solitude.

Teleological:

Information, energy, or nonlinear change that occurs as the effect of events that take place in the future and alter the past, which is perceived in the present as non-ordinary phenomena, synchronicities, unpredictable emergent properties or other notable explicate arisings. The source of such forces may also lie beyond chronological time, in higher dimensions of the Real.

The process of non-process:

Since awakening is instantaneous, along with the recognition that one was never really in the dream, but enjoying the creation of the dream, it must be understood that making awakening into a process can only be part of the dream, and has nothing to do with Awakening itself.

The Real:

When we speak of the Real, unless otherwise qualified, we mean the Supreme Real. The Supreme Real does not appear. Appearance is not Real. All that appears is empty of true existence. There are no real things. All that is phenomenal is temporary, dependent, and reducible to a wave function of consciousness. The world does not exist independent of consciousness. There is no matter or material world. All is made of consciousness. Pure consciousness is Presence. It is no-thing, non-objective, not in space or time. All that appears in Presence, or to Presence, is an emanation of Presence, but is not different from That. This is one meaning of nonduality.

The Real is also a term used in Lacanian psychoanalysis. What Lacan means by the Real is that aspect of phenomenal appearance which is overwhelming, traumatic, or impossible. We would call that Real One. It is a relative Real, not Absolute. We add that there is a Real Two, which consists of divine love. Love is not an appearance, but it changes appearance, through recognition of its Source, into a divine manifestation, a projection of God’s sublimely beautiful Mind as infinite fractal holographic cosmos. Real Three is the unchanging Absolute, beyond all conception or image.

Dharma and dharma:

When we use the term Dharma (capitalized), we refer to our dedication to living in accord with the timeless principles of impeccable integrity that keep us in harmony with Nature and our Supernatural Source.

When we use the term without capitalization, we refer to our acceptance of the community’s processes, protocols, and chain of command with the “Haji! Spirit” of going the “extra mile” and working overtime when necessary to make the impossible inevitable, as our unconditional act of surrender to Love.
