Sat Yoga Meditation Retreats, Costa Rica

Life-changing journeys of spiritual wisdom, meditation, awakening and liberation

Sat Yoga is the Science of Consciousness

Accelerate and energize your spiritual transformation.

Sat Yoga offers meditation retreats along with other advanced programs of immersion for serious spiritual seekers as part of our online wisdom school offerings and as part of our onsite Ashram Residency Path program.

Our courses and retreats focus on the attainment of Self-realization. Led by Shunyamurti and supported by the ashram community, these powerful and transformational seminars are designed to help people understand and cope with the extraordinary events that are occurring in this historical moment in time by offering Truth–both absolute Truth and the relative truth about what is happening in the world.

Although the ashram is closed to short-term retreats for now, we continue to broadcast our full calendar of Shunyamurti Retreats and Seminars for all who wish to join our global sangha and receive the latest empowering transmissions from Shunyamurti.

Onsite at the ashram, we have created a new month-long program especially for our online members, Shakti Saturation Month. We are also open to receiving applications from those who wish to join us for our long-term residential immersion, the Sevadhari program, or as a candidate for permanent residential membership. These programs are for serious seekers ready to dive into our ashram energy field.

An Ashram Oasis

A sacred refuge of peace

An ashram is the most ancient and sacred archetypal form of community. It is a school, a monastery, a refuge for Spirit to flourish, a pilgrimage center in which the highest wisdom is offered and the most sublime values are lived and shared with all.

Discover another way of living—that integrates the abundance and beauty of Nature with the most benign achievements of contemporary technology. The tranquil ambience of our peaceful community will enable you to shift your paradigm of what is possible—and open your imagination to create a more fulfilling life.

Shakti Saturation Month

The Shakti Saturation Month is a 4-Week transformational intensive specially designed to serve our growing global community. The program consists of three integrated elements: an initial period of sacred solitude and silence punctuated by virtual classes and healing encounters; then, an advanced seminar/retreat guided by Shunyamurti; topped with the joy of full immersion in ashram community life. This program is only open to current members of our Online Wisdom School. Please visit the Shakti Saturation Month page to learn more and begin the application process.

Become a Sevadhari

The Sevadhari program is for serious seekers of Self-realization willing to commit to an intensive immersion in spiritual inner work as well as physical service to the community for a period of at least 6 months. You would attend the wisdom school classes, engage in individual sessions of Self-enquiry, and participate in beautiful community projects. Those who wish to be considered for permanent membership in the Ashram also start out as Sevadharis. Please visit the Sevadhari program page to learn more and begin the application process.

We are receiving applications from those who wish to join us for an extended period as part of our Sevadhari program. This program is a residential curriculum in which serious seekers of Self-realization are invited to dive fully into our ashram energy field, classes, and community work projects for a period of six months or longer.

Shunyamurti Retreats

Shunyamurti offers Meditation, Transformational, and Silent Retreats that range from three to seven days.

A spiritual retreat led by Shunyamurti is a powerful and life-changing event. Shunya speaks eloquently of profound truths that open our hearts and minds to the purity of divine love. His words and presence bring an end to confusion and doubt.

The vast knowledge he shares integrates all aspects of life and every field of science, from quantum physics to nonlinear dynamics, from dream work and psychoanalysis to ancient Greek philosophy and forgotten teachings of Buddhism, Taoism, and the original forms of Yoga.

During retreats you will have the unique opportunity of meeting in group with Shunyamurti for meditations, gyana wisdom classes, and satsang. If you are seeking to be with Shunyamurti and want to have many opportunities to meditate in the energy field of a master, this is for you.

“My first visit to Sat Yoga Ashram was an amazing experience. It showed me the path through presence, simplicity, and purity. During the year I did some serious thinking, which led to new questions. That’s why I decided to come back for an Immersion Program. The quantity of information offered during a retreat is enormous and one truly needs time to process it. Joining an Immersion after a retreat is the best thing to do.”

Gyana and Dhyana:

Gyana means the supreme knowledge (Gnosis) of the structure and dynamic functioning and destiny of reality as manifested in and by the Mind of the Absolute.

Dhyana is the meditative capacity to resonate with the Supreme Intelligence and harness its Power to serve the Will of God.

One whose consciousness has merged with Brahman, the Absolute, and thus has been liberated from all desire, fear, attachment, and material frames of reference. Thus, a Brahmachari naturally lives a life of celibacy, simplicity, and inner solitude.

Information, energy, or nonlinear change that occurs as the effect of events that take place in the future and alter the past, which is perceived in the present as non-ordinary phenomena, synchronicities, unpredictable emergent properties or other notable explicate arisings. The source of such forces may also lie beyond chronological time, in higher dimensions of the Real.

The process of non-process:

Since awakening is instantaneous, along with the recognition that one was never really in the dream, but enjoying the creation of the dream, it must be understood that making awakening into a process can only be part of the dream, and has nothing to do with Awakening itself.

The Real:

When we speak of the Real, unless otherwise qualified, we mean the Supreme Real. The Supreme Real does not appear. Appearance is not Real. All that appears is empty of true existence. There are no real things. All that is phenomenal is temporary, dependent, and reducible to a wave function of consciousness. The world does not exist independent of consciousness. There is no matter or material world. All is made of consciousness. Pure consciousness is Presence. It is no-thing, non-objective, not in space or time. All that appears in Presence, or to Presence, is an emanation of Presence, but is not different from That. This is one meaning of nonduality.

The Real is also a term used in Lacanian psychoanalysis. What Lacan means by the Real is that aspect of phenomenal appearance which is overwhelming, traumatic, or impossible. We would call that Real One. It is a relative Real, not Absolute. We add that there is a Real Two, which consists of divine love. Love is not an appearance, but it changes appearance, through recognition of its Source, into a divine manifestation, a projection of God’s sublimely beautiful Mind as infinite fractal holographic cosmos. Real Three is the unchanging Absolute, beyond all conception or image.

Dharma and dharma:

When we use the term Dharma (capitalized), we refer to our dedication to living in accord with the timeless principles of impeccable integrity that keep us in harmony with Nature and our Supernatural Source.

When we use the term without capitalization, we refer to our acceptance of the community’s processes, protocols, and chain of command with the “Haji! Spirit” of going the “extra mile” and working overtime when necessary to make the impossible inevitable, as our unconditional act of surrender to Love.
