Freely Flowing February
This month, as the sun hours increase and the rain decreases, we started planting more of our crops outdoors. It’s a joy for the plants (as well as us yogis!) to soak in this life-giving light.
Our seed saving efforts are also in full swing. The resulting seed collection and processing will continue for the next several months.
We are also blessed to share our humble food growing efforts with our guests, which is an opportunity to apply the wisdom teachings and the way they metaphorically point to the practice of embodied living. For example, clearing weeds out of a bed of kale can be likened to removing unnecessary thoughts from the mind, and sowing seeds like the phase of the creative process where we gather ideas and inspirations to be explored. We place them gently into fertile soil and nurture them, watering them daily with love, patiently awaiting, and accepting whatever may emerge, or arise!
And as we face challenges and new directions in life, we constantly learn to remember that all leads us back to the remembrance of love and gratitude, service and surrender.
