Terms and Conditions

Your Stay

Length of Stay - We require a minimum commitment of 3 months. After the successful completion of the first 3 months, you may be eligible to apply for an extension.  We reserve the right to terminate your program at any time if we find that you consistently fail to abide by the ashram and program guidelines and do not take the corrective actions recommended by your program coordinator.

Formal Assessments - The first month of this program is an introductory month that includes an Imperience Retreat as well as orientations and trainings. Upon completion of the first month of your program we will have a formal review (Assessment Meeting) with you, in which we will asses the progress of your participation and agree on the terms of the continuation of your program and remaining 2 months. If you are interested in staying longer than 3 months and accepted to stay, then regular assessments will take place at the completion of every 2-3 month period, or as needed.

Payment Structure

  • Cost – The cost of the program is calculated at $2900 for the first three months. Additional months are calculated at $850 per month.

  • First Payment –  To guarantee your space we require a payment of $1200 which covers the first month of your stay, which includes a 10-day Imperience Retreat. $300 of this payment is a non-refundable reservation fee, which we will keep in any case of cancellation (see details about our cancellation policy below). We require this deposit in our account at least 30 days before the program start date.

  • Second Payment – A second payment of $1700 will cover the balance remaining for the next 2 months of your stay. This will be due following the end of your 1st month trial, following the first Assessment Meeting. This payment will cover the subsequent two months of your program.

  • Subsequent Payments – Once you have completed an initial 3 months period you will be asked to make monthly payments, according to the schedule agreed with the program coordinator.

Payment Methods

Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card. Session must be paid in cash.

Refund Policy

What if you cancel? A full refund will be issued from your total payment minus the $300 initial non-refundable reservation fee, if you cancel 30 days or more prior to the start of the program.  If you cancel within 29 – 14 days prior to the start of your program a 50% refund will be issued from your total contribution received.  We do not offer a refund if you cancel within 14 days of the start of your program.

What if we cancel? In the case we have to cancel an event, before your arrival, and due to unforeseen circumstances we will do our best to notify you of this four weeks before the start date of your program. You can apply your already paid contribution to another Sat Yoga offering, or if you would prefer a refund, we will refund the full amount that you paid including the reservation fee.

Mandatory Insurance – Sat Yoga requires that all participants be covered by appropriate life, accident, and medical insurance and that they be financially responsible and prepared for such expenses. You will need to present a valid health insurance policy for the duration of your stay at least 7 days before arrival.

Immigration Status – All program participants are responsible to maintain legal and up to date immigration status for the duration of their stay at the Sat Yoga Ashram. Not all people who wish to travel to Costa Rica need a tourist visa; this will depend on your nationality, purpose of visit, country of residence, and duration of stay. We strongly encourage you to research the legal requirements for visiting Costa Rica before making your travel plans.
