Summary: The ego wants cessation of its own overthinking, which is producing anxiety, stress, frustration, and energy depletion. The intermittent peace that meditation brings is joyous, but only so long as the ego is not lost too long in that state. It must cease the cessation of thinking before it gets so enraptured that it takes the upper death drive to the Blissful Light. The ego’s object of desire must be projected on something or someone in the world, starting with its own body. Love of God is our only hope.
