Summary: The age-old problem that must be faced by adept yogis is how to deal with paranormal abilities, known as siddhis, that often appear unbidden, or can be deliberately developed, as a result of the increase in their power of concentration, intensity of intention, and strength of will. One must not allow any egoic desire for, or attachment to, such powers to arise. The price would be loss of the prize of liberation from the wheel of karma. Possessing siddhis would then amount only to vanity. But if one’s siddhis are surrendered to the will of God and employed only in divine service, if so ordained, then they can heighten the faith of other seekers.
